Star Wars the Old Republic : A game you should try in 2021

Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) is a Massively Multiplayer Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) set in the Star Wars universe, but many, many years before Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. SWTOR launched in December 2011 and has been the only Star Wars MMO since. It is being developed and supported by BioWare Austin. SWTOR over the years has graduated into a version that is definitely easier to traverse. Yes, it is an online RPG. And yes grouping is definitely a good way to level and advance. However, you can definitely play through most of the game solo, if that’s how you prefer to play. There are guilds of course, and group missions, flashpoints (dungeons), and everything an MMORPG offers.

If you’re a new player who’s trying to decide if the game is worth playing, let’s first go over the cost of the game. Good news – it’s actually free. To download and play an expansive free demo of the game’s first sixty levels and original classic story can be done without spending a single dime. New players who have never spent money on the game are referred to as free-to-play players, and although they have convenience restrictions, all 8 class stories can easily be accessed on a free to play account, and the original 8 class storylines are considered some of the best story content in the game. So if you are concerned about spending money on a game you might not like, SWTOR might be perfect for you to try out. Although the game is free, SWTOR Credits still important for this game.

New players who have played other online MMOs will be pleasantly surprised about the interactive cutscenes in Star Wars: The Old Republic. The cutscenes really are like being in your own movie – and even better, a movie you get to make decisions in. Every cutscene is fully voiced and animated, and the main class stories are exceptionally good. There are also 8 different classes to choose from – so if you choose to play a Sith Inquisitor, you’re going to have a drastically different story than someone playing a Republic Trooper. Your class decides your combat style, your weapon, and your class storyline – you can play a Sith Inquisitor, a Jedi Knight, an Imperial Agent, a Smuggler, a Sith Warrior, a Trooper, a Jedi Consular, or a Bounty Hunter.

If you are a PvP player, there are five team-based PvP maps that do well in these areas and players can enter ranked PvP. Doing well in ranked PvP puts players on the leaderboard, which is updated every two hours. Also, if you stay in the top spot until the end of the season, you will be rewarded in the game. But it's important to remember that Star Wars of the Old Republic will always be a story-centric game. Starting with 3641 BBY, you will play as eight class stories in two factions, four stories for each faction. These are widely considered to be the best stories in the game.

After the class stories are done, players head into the faction stories that are Rise of the Hutt Cuttle and Shadow of Revan before heading into Knight of the Fallen Empire and Knights of the Eternal Throne, which sets up the storyline going forward. In Knights of the Fallen Empire, your character becomes the leader of an Alliance of specialists and Force users in their attempt to bring down the Eternal Empire.
